Hello, I'm Lena
I'm a project manager, a parent, and an expatriate living in Berlin, Germany.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually opened a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Germany wasn't part of our long-term plan. Like many global assignments, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The early months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and shifted expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complex than anticipated.
The Adjustment Period
We encountered culture shock, some doubt, and a lot of learning on the job. Yet, over time, habits settled in. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began shaping something steady.
Why I Built Relocate & Thrive
Most online guidance leaned toward corporate relocation tips or superficial travel content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Germany.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Hands-on experience from living in Germany
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever there’s an actual change
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored-review platform
- Not just a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Germany goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue recording what we learn.
If you have questions about family life in Berlin or anywhere in Germany, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Cheers,
Lena
